The Handwriting Challenge

This tag could not have come at a better time. I had no idea what to write for this week’s post and was kind of feeling burned out on writing because it’s April and that means Camp NaNoWriMo. Don’t get me wrong; I love all the NaNos, and I’ve gotten so much writing done in the past few days so I’m super pumped about my story. But sometimes when you’ve done a lot of writing, the last thing you want to do to take a break from it is, well, more writing.

So, thank you Ket Cage for giving me something fun to do for this post.

You’ve all read tons of things I’ve written over the few years this blog has been around, but it’s always been typed. You’ve never seen what my writing looks like handwritten.

Well today that’s about to change (because I know you stay awake at night wondering what my handwriting looks like). The challenge is pretty simple. All I have to do is answer these questions, but instead of typing the answers I have to write them.

This should be fun!

Questions:

  1. Write your name
  2. Write your blog’s name
  3. Write your favorite word and its definition
  4. Write something nice
  5. Write the name of your favorite song right now
  6. What are you writing with?
  7. Write a fun fact about yourself
  8. Write/draw your favorite emoticon
  9. Write a silly message
  10. Write who you’re tagging

To be fair, I’ll admit that this is what my handwriting looks like when I’m paying attention to it. When I’m jotting down notes for story ideas, it gets pretty rough. It’s like my brain is moving too fast for my hand and I’m just trying to get it all down before it fades from my mind.

Here’s something from a story idea I had about a year ago (that I’ll probably never actually write).

    Also, never in my life would I have ever thought that Megan would copy something from me. I’m feeling honoured xD

  3. Ooooo, I wonder if I should use cursive or print 😉 .

    1. You could do cursive to change things up a bit. Or really shake it up and write part in cursive and part print. 😀

  4. I watched a bunch of handwriting analysis videos on YouTube a couple weeks ago–the only thing I remember offhand is that you don’t have a felon’s claw. Good job, I guess?

    1. I’ve read something before on handwriting and what it’s supposed to mean about your personality. I don’t remember them though. 😀 I have no idea what a felon’s claw is. I guess I’ll go look that up, because now it has me curious. 😛 It sounds a bit ominous so I guess it’s a good thing that I don’t have it. 😀

  5. I just took a course on handwriting analysis this past semester and this tag could not have been more perfect! Thanks for tagging me, Megan. 😀 From what I’ve learned, you are a quick thinker, intuitive, and can come off as shy or reserved. Haha, I really liked the silly sentences (so true, lol). Also, nice choice for the favourite word question! 🙂

    1. That sounds like it would be a fun course. I read an article a few years ago about how handwriting showed personality. All I remember though is if the writing slanted up, then you were a more positive person. If they slanted downward you were a negative person. But I guess if you are writing on lined paper, no one will ever know. 😀
      Sounds like me. I guess those handwriting analysis are pretty accurate. 🙂

      1. Yay! I’m glad I got it right. 😁 It was fun, especially since all my other subjects were technical and here we used to have interesting discussions on the human mind and personality. It was the easiest subject as well. 😂
        Oh yes, it is better to analyse handwriting on an unruled paper. I learnt the same about slants as well. Even margins can tell you a lot about how the person is. We didn’t go into a lot of the complex stuff, so there’s only so much I can analyse.

      2. It definitely sounds like one of those classes you wish there were more of. Interesting and easy. Can’t beat that! 😉 Sounds like a class I would love. I’m all about analyzing personalities. That’s probably why I’m addicted to reading those online articles about Myers Briggs personality types. 😀

      4. I do that too! After I know a lot about my character, I’ll actually take the quiz as them. I try to get into their head and think about how they would answer the question. Once I know their type, I feel I can get an even better understanding of who they are.
        Yay! I’ve found another person obsessed with MBT! 😀
