Can’t describe the turmoil I feel
Open was my heart, my love was real
Never thought we wouldn’t spend the years together
For us, wasn’t a storm I wouldn’t weather
Us- a word never to be used again
See how blind I’ve been
Even now it seems unreal
Didn’t think my heart they’d steal

Love the poem but have a question about “they’d steal.” Has it happened often? Or is it a gender thing and I’m not up to date?
