About-Face

How long have you been facing the past

Staring into the abyss of shadow and shade

Thinking, if only it could last

But the past has already been made

Why stand and look at what could have happened

When there’s a “what could be”

You’re sure your dreams are flattened

So busy looking backwards you can’t see

It’s time to do an about-face

Quit looking in the rearview mirror and look straight

Your life isn’t a closed case

Look for the possibilities; it’s not too late

I decided not to do the found poetry form because I don’t have any magazines or newspapers around and my books are too precious to cut into pieces.  😉

I did use the subject given from our assignment though (sort of).  About-face…faces.  *shug*  Close enough!  🙂
