Has it Been a Year Already?

Happy Birthday to Invisible World!  It has survived a full year of awkward phrasing, unsmooth paragraph transitioning, and uncounted typos.  Yep, my blog is a trooper.

I wasn’t sure how this whole blogging thing would turn out when I started it a year ago, but despite those moments of “Oh no! What I’m I going to write next?” I like it enough to keep going for another year.  I’ve discovered great blogs and met some really sweet people because of this blog.  Not to mention I’ve written more short stories than I would have if I weren’t blogging.  Nothing motivates you like knowing you have readers you can’t let down.   Which brings me to the point of this post.

Yes, I’m celebrating my blogs first-year anniversary, but where would my blog be without all of you?   I mean, my blog is great and all, but some how I don’t think I’d still be blogging if it weren’t for all of you who have read my posts, critiqued my stories, and left such encouraging comments.

So to celebrate my first year of blogging, I’m going to showcase some of my favorite comments by listing them below.  Because you are all so awesome, I am putting a link to your blog.  Such amazing commenters must be amazing bloggers too. 😉

Here are some (I couldn’t do them all 😦 ) of my favorite quotes:

I just want to say I love your work . The way you write is so interesting to read. You instantly grab my attention.

I’m squealing right now. This is SO COOL 😀 ! I’m so honored you decided to do a continuation of my piece for this prompt. And not only that, you made it even better by having the protagonist own their ‘bug eyes’ 😀 ! And, and the whole witch-bit, too! Aaaah~ I’m motivated to do flash fiction again! x3 Really awesome work, Megan!

Great job! You characterized Loki very well – it’s always hardest to write characters that are not your own (at least, in my experience). He was brilliant in this short story, very entertaining 🙂

Loki’s Interview

A very good read!! I’m very impressed with you Loki dialogue! That ain’t easy and you did if very well! Enjoyed the clash between the modern mortal and timeless god! Nice work! TiV

Great tale with a kind of Robin Hood ethical dilemma! Very engaging an, like the others, I couldn’t stop reading. I also enjoyed the humour at the start! Great job. Meg! TiV

The Chalice

I really liked this! Once I started reading I couldn’t stop 😀 I like how you dealt with the ethics of the situation here. The antagonist is Robin Hood, basically, but we are seeing the story from the opposite side….

This was really amazing! Just from the first couple of lines I was intrigued….Looking forward to your next post 🙂

A masterpiece! What a story. There are so many of us who imprison ourselves for one reason or other.

The Unlocked Prison

I take away from this great story the line, “How do you know that there aren’t more people in the Prison than on the outside? And if that is true, then by majority alone, which group is normal?”
One of those things that makes ya go hmmmm?

The Unlocked Prison

I love this! It’s a great story, with a twist on a well-known theme 🙂

Amazing, girl.
Thanks for the story. It’s so beautiful.
It resonated in my soul, when I read it.
It was very creative and deep.

Shattered

I love the immediacy of this piece—that I’m right in the thick of Zorok’s world, his desire, and conflict. And how you bring up the figure’s last words at the end through Tom’s knack for languages makes it even more chilling and resonant of the story as a whole.

Really awesome work 🙂

 Beautiful, yet eerie post.
Nicely done.

Out of all of your stories, this one is the very best! It was amazing, and I’m still left wondering who the man with the golden eyes was – though I have a faint suspicion

What a fun tale! I really enjoyed L.C.’s voice! The challenges she came up against were well thought out and funny! Great work, Megan! TiV

A beautiful story. Your technique is great. The language is easy to understand and follow. I love the obscure analogy to religion…

Aw, poor thing! Good for her in facing her fear. Great job pulling out the moment and loved the ending.

There were so many other great comments, but you’d be reading all day if  I listed them all.  These comments, and ones like them, inspire me to keep going, keep writing, and keep learning the craft. You, wonderful readers, are my inspiration, my muse, and my kick in the pants when I’m too lazy to write. 🙂 Thank you for making my first year such a blast!

    1. Yep, I’m new to the world of blogging and writing. I’m loving every bit of it though! I try to write as much as I can. I feel like I’m really slow though and don’t write enough. :/
      You’re so sweet! Thanks!
